Dry month
I know I haven't posted in a while, I just haven't had much interesting to say... I am looking forward to the beginning of my vacation (I'm leaving on August 5) and besides that I don't want to force you to read a million identical posts in which I count down to that moment... in life sometimes silence is wiser, so this is what I have been doing here in order to spare you repetitive messages.
Last weekend I was so annoyed with the Milan atmosphere that I grabbed my car and drove far, far away, 320 kilometers to the beach house. I could have taken someone with me, but I decided to go by myself, because I needed peace... not that I don't have peace, I live alone, then again there's nothing better than to take your car, hook up your ipod and drive far far away to another world... it was very relaxing, I got to go to the beach, but returned pretty soon because I was already missing the mayem of the city... can you believe it? Well, it was probably due to the fact that I was by myself but still... I should have just not given a damn about Milan.
So I'm checking out now, I hope to come back with a more interesting soon enough...

ITALIA CAMPIONI DEL MONDO 2006!!!

A MOMENT IN HISTORY THAT I WILL NEVER FORGET, A TIME WHEN EVEN A NON SOCCER FAN LIKE YOURS TRULY REMAINED STUCK IN FRONT OF THE TV FOR EVERY SINGLE MATCH... A TIME WHEN EVERY ITALIAN IS PROUD TO BE... AZZURRO.
Ghost city
Milan is empty, Milan is quiet... I can see people are finally going away on summer vacation, and I thought the economy was bad? Here and there you hear a few honks, teenagers scream, stadium horns from a distance. Milan is asleep... no, Milan isn't asleep, Milan is waiting.
Italy has been waiting since the beginning of the Cup, for this evening... we have been patiently watching, hoping, praying, wishing to go on ahead just a little bit more. We went ahead all the way to the end and now it's time to close the dances.
Milan, enveloped in its humid heat of July is like a tiger ready to pounce, and Italy is the boot that's ready to strike.

Italia in the finals!
It was going to be a tough game, plus most were saying that Germany was going to win the cup... but we were better organized, more motivated, stronger, we believed... and Sunday we're playing our hearts out in the finals! If we win it'll be a first for me, after all, last time Italy won was in 1982 and I was so young that I don't have a recollection of it.
I crossed my fingers, I suffered, it looked like we were heading for the penalty shots... while instead... the gol by Grosso, followed by the gol by Del Piero... I screamed my ass off so loud the dog I am sitting for was petrified... and ran onto the balcony to join the others who were screaming ITALIA ITALIA ITALIA ITALIA!! So what if my neighbors' annoying child was asleep FUCK, THEY WERE GERMAN!! ROFL, AMAZING!! Just keep on screaming my ass off and shaking like a leaf...fuck those Germans who said we were greasy parasites that eat spaghetti all day long, fuck them!!
I had tears in my eyes, can you believe it?? Guess this is what a sport should really feel like, and we are dreaming, we hope to win this cup we hope... we believe.

A day at Gardaland!
I am still so tired from this weekend; Fabio was over and yesterday we went with my friend Rosa and her man to Gardaland, a big theme park that is much like Disney World.
We met up at the stazione centrale at a quarter to 8, took our train and got off at Peschiera del Garda. That area is beautiful because of its gorgeous lake Garda... we took the bus and were in front of Gardaland.
Gardaland, a park I've always heard of but never went to. Everyone in Italy, well, almost everyone, has seen it so finally I have too... no matter I've been to two Disney parks and another Italian park, this one was a first...you can only imagine the heat, the sun! We were lucky though because out of all the days we picked one without huge crowds plus the sun was strong, but not unbearable. I enjoyed myself soooo much, first because I love those types of parks, second because we went in group and third, because I found Rosa to be my perfect theme park companion. We went on a few adrenaline rides, but avoided the crazy ones our boyfriends happily went on together.
In exchange, we went on kiddie-like rides that most adults would never even look at, and we laughed like there's no tomorrow! I'm posting pictures for your viewing enjoyment!

Hot weekend
It is HOT AS HELL, it's impossible to keep the AC turned off, no matter how hard I try screw it if the bill will be high as crazy, at least I didn't boil my ass to death. I know it's annoying especially if you are not Italian or hate soccer, but that's all people talk about these days... yesterday was a great victory agains Ukraine with 3 amazing gol!!
I was browsing around the net today and ran into this picture... in the background you'll read the sign "ours is bigger" ... well, let's hope ours is bigger than Germany's! On to the semifinals against them next Tuesday! It won't be easy but I have a feeling... forget it, let's not jinx this one!
