The South Beach Diet <--- my savior!

So here I am with you again, feeling like one of those desperate people who are willing to spend hundreds of efforts (and bucks) on the latest, most popular diets.

I never wanted to believe that this would work, after all, it seems unnatural giving up the normal, every-other-day ration of pasta or pizza. I mean, carbohydrates are an essential part of a true Italian's dietary needs right?

Well I gave this diet a chance because I noticed that it was written by a cardiologist, and those are doctors that really recommend a healthy diet for patients, not one that makes you lose weight.

This doctor Agatston devised the diet for other reasons and noticed that not only did his patients come back a month later wearing a new wardrobe, but also their relatives were giving this diet a chance and losing weight!

So I started one fine day, and it was the hardest thing ever, because for at least two weeks you must avoid anything that is chocolate (oh dear), carbohydrates (double oh dear), potatoes, fruit, a lot of cheeses and other fundamental stuff.

What you introduce in your diet is eggs, poultry, lean meat, fish, fresh veggies and (yay!) some light cheese like cottage cheese, cream cheese, ricotta and provolone.

Let me just tell you that I found the first few days hell but once I started following the diet and replacing the fattening, off-limit foods with the allowed ones I wasn't hungry anymore. Actually, I felt much more satisfied with this new routine!

During the two weeks you are supposed to lose 4-6 lbs and if you want to you can continue the phase before you go on to the next (a less restrictive, fruit, milk and black chocolate allowing period).

Thanks to The South Beach Diet I had the most exciting summer and was able to wear clothes that had been on the rack since 1998!! What's great is that now I allow myself to go out with friends and eat junk or chocolate just as long as the next few days I get back on the plan... and I haven't gained a pound since then!

I know, these tapes are not the newest around but try them and you will not be disappointed.  I only own two of them, buns and abs and am going to buy the remaining two, arms and legs.  The best thing about these tapes is that each focuses on one particular target area so the buyer can choose the one they need most.  Another plus is that with each tape you can work out every day concentrating on a different part of the body avoiding strain of overworked muscles.

Try the abs and burn big time, as the lady at the end will tell you that you have just completed 180 crunches in 30 minutes!  Dare think you can go through the buns tape for the first time without stopping for  a drink of water.  Hey, if it hurts it works!

The downs? The soundtrack is pretty lame and Claudia's body is so sexy that she makes you wish even one of your fingers would look like hers but keep sweating and results will come.  I'm just helping you find what works.

 

Just don't let them see you!

Ok, Richard Simmons is not the manliest of men and his infomercials might make you laugh a bit but isn't that what makes us feel more confident about ourselves? In his new weight loss plan "Lose weight and Celebrate" he includes three tapes and a very handy food mover which helps you keep up with your daily intake of calories so you do not exceed the right dosage for your body.  If you are skeptical check out his official web site.  And remember that you don't have to be overweight (or gay) to do his workouts! They are actually fun!

I cannot stress hard enough how awesome Billy Blanks' TAE-BO tapes are!
