The best advice I could ever give you- READ HARRY POTTER!

I am 21 years old and absolutely loved the first two Harry Potter books, it took me four days to read both and can't wait to open up the third.  Rarely I find myself glad the fourth and newest volume is very thick, I am afraid I shall miss Harry Potter.

Going to see the movie was just a diversion and I am now hooked.  I can honestly tell you Harry Potter's books are among my favorites and also attract the attention of an adult.  Amazing, incredible, speechless!

Even if you dont' read much you'll love this.  If you are a student why not spend the holidays with a light read? And I am still preaching- Hail King Potter!

J-Lo's wedding

After only eight months from breaking up with rapper P-Diddy (on Valentine's Day!), heartbreaker Jennifer Lopez tied the knot with new beau, dancer Chris Judd, on Saturday, September 29 2001.  We think, it's either this guy is a secret wonder man (because up front we see nothing special) or J-Lo was tired of being with a man who was more powerful than her.  Perhaps she wants to wear the pants in the relationship; we are left to wonder how long this will last.

For some weird reason I imagine J-Lo as some whiny bitch who gets everything she wants... but that's just an opinion.

2001 VMA Winners and Losers!

WINNERS:

LADIES MARMELADE

Very unexpectedly, Pink, Mya, Christina Aguilera and Lil' Kim bagged the big best video moon man and the video from a film award.

The ladies, all nicely dressed, looked very radiant and worthy of the coveted MTV prize.  Congratulations!

JANET JACKSON

With her sexy J-Lo-like get up, Janet Jackson was the best dressed diva at the VMA's.  She was a big part of Aaliyah's stage tribute when she explained her impression of the deceased singer and read a sweet letter from a fan.  Although she walked away empty handed, she proved that a good performance and image is really the highlight of the show.

MISSY & COMPANY

After delivering a great stage tribute to Aaliyah featuring the singer's brother Missy Elliot had a stunning performance: painted dancers, smoke and Missy herself being lowered from the ceiling on a huge chandelier left the viewer amazed but that was just the beginning.  From a huge model of Missy's head came out a "tongue-carpet" that allowed Nelly Furtado to slide in and sing a few notes.  As the head revolved into a treasure chest (so it seemed) Ludacris and Trina exited and sang their parts in "Minute Man."

And as the audience was pumped and watching, music stopped and Missy dedicated the great performance to Aaliyah; as the melody of "One in a Million" played, a beautiful drawing of Aaliyah as an angel was shown on the huge screen.

ALICIA KEYS

This one was expected, Alicia Key's performance was great.  As she played the piano beautifully and sang, a huge choir of Gospel singers backed up the artist.  Keys also won the "Best New Artist" award.

*NSYNC

Their performance was the best of the evening.  It was full of colorful effects, neon yellow, orange hair of the dancers and a great introduction of the members as they came on the stage after "popping out" of huge comic book representations.  The highlight that really did it was Michael Jackson's cameo in the song, showing he has not forgotten his famous moves.  And everyone stood and applauded.

LOSERS

DESTINY'S CHILD

Yes, they won the "Best R&B video" award, but the girls were mysteriously not very drawn in the special event's atmosphere like the previous years.  They stood away from the spotlight as they accepted their award in a HORRIBLE trio of outfits, courtesy of Beyonce's mother Tina Knowles, that resembled more clothes of Native Americans, bright orange Native Americans.  Michelle's poncho just confused me!  One thing is to stand out, but another is to forget your style in the process.  What happened??

JENNIFER LOPEZ & JA RULE

Not only was J-Lo severely "attached" as host Jaime Fox claimed something like "her ass will always be puffy" and asked P-Diddy to stand up for the audience telling him she will always be his!

Jennifer's audience outfit was TERRIBLE as she wore a nice hat she previously had at a VH1 interview (very unoriginal thing) but was also wearing a gipsy-like shirt that completely killed her sexy curves screaming underneath her clothes.

And her performance?  Nice dance number but as soon as Miss J-Lo opened her pretty mouth my smile turned into a disgusted frown.  The smooth, sweetish and sexyish voice I always heard in her videos and CD's turned into a forced and tired sequence of off-tune notes as back-up dancers desperately tried to cover the mistakes by singing louder.

Ja Rule accompanied with a very unknown voice that made him sound more like a teenager than a deep-voiced thug.

Whut waz that all about???

BRITNEY SPEARS

All right, I have to admit this one; it was extremely hard for Brit Brit to replicate her amazing performance at last year's VMA's but let's just say she missed... badly!

As all animal right activists attacked her choice to use live wild animals in the performance, Britney exited a cheeta's cage and lip-synched around the stage in a skimpy, meaningless olive green top holding a huge yellow snake.

But the worst thing of the performance was the song because Spears introduced her new single to the new album that comes out this November.  It was a desperate imitation of Janet Jackson's tunes as Britney tried to go from Pop to Not.

Why? Is she trying to go for a new genre of music?  All I know is that, guys, THE SONG WAS VERY, VERY BAD.  And I am not trying to be judgmental... I am just very disappointed.

August 2001

Tribute to a fallen star

R&B singer and actress Aaliyah died in a small plane crash on Saturday, August 25.  According to authorities, the small plane that would have taken her and a crew of eight from the Bahamas back to the United States  crashed after takeoff.

Aaliyah was known worldwide and her new acting role in the "Matrix" sequel would have landed her an even higher position in her career.  She was known especially for her smooth ballads and hip-hop flavored tunes, including "Are you That Somebody?" and the latest "We Need a Resolution."  BubbleSnow.net bids her farewell with a prayer and tears.  She was known as a very good, loving person and was definitely an amazing performer and musician.

Left, a picture of the plane that crashed after takeoff stealing the lives of Aaliyah and eight other people.

"Loud is my computer playing some of her songs as I wonder just how and why can fate play such a tragic role in life.  The beat pierces my skin as Aaliyah's beautiful voice tickles my ears.  Then my play list ends and silence reigns.  Goodbye to a wonderful star that even young had accomplished so much.  Your songs will remain in my heart."
